CHARLES D. VAUGHAN
After graduating from high school Mr. Vaughan began a career in the printing industry as a printing pressman for United Methodist Board of Evangelism. Two years later he was employed as a pressman by the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers. After seven years with the Corps, he began a partnership in a printing company in Nashville, Tennessee, where, while operating printing presses, he also entered the field of sales.
In 1972 Mr. Vaughan became sole owner of the company. He later purchased another printing company and combined the two in 1988 to create Vaughan Printing Inc. He remained owner of the company until its sale in 2009.
Charles served as a Board Member of Printing Industry Association of the South for over 25 years, including a two year term as Chairman. He was also Chairman of the PIAS Insurance Committee for 10 years. During his service he was recipient of the “Man of the Year Award” by vote of his peers in PIAS.
Mr. Vaughan served on the Board of Directors of the national Printing Industries of America from 1994 to 2006. During that time he was on the Government Affairs Committee and served as Chairman of the Association Relations Committee.
Active in his community and his church, he has served on the boards of many local schools and, service organizations as well as his church.
